What is Let’s Talk about EU?
Is the European Union a mystery to you? Its competencies, its fields of action, its impact on your daily life… does it all seem rather complicated? Well then, you have come to the right place. The purpose of Let’s Talk about EU is to bring existing educational videos together in one place in order to help you get a better understanding of the European Union.
It’s not our intention to convince or influence you. The selection of videos posted on Let’s Talk About EU is eclectic and unbiased, but above all informative and based on facts. Our mission is to give you the keys to form your own opinion of the European Union. Good or bad, that’s up to you.
Why videos?
The web is full of information on the European Union – and that’s the problem! Getting information takes time and research. A video is an attractive format that makes it possible to provide a lot of information in a short amount of time.
We do not own the videos of Let’s Talk About EU. They are freely available on YouTube. We have simply classified them by theme for more convenience. They come from difference sources, both institutional and independent. Do you know of a relevant video that is not yet on the platform? Let us know! Click here to contact us.
Who is behind Let’s Talk About EU?
Let’s Talk about EU is an initiative of the European Citizen Space. This collective of volunteer citizens have devoted themselves for two years to bringing citizens and European institutions closer together. They develop educational tools (like this platform) and organise unconventional meetings between citizens and representatives of the European institutions. Click here to find out more about the European Citizen Space.
The European Citizen Space is entirely independent and is not financed by the European Union and its programmes.
Europe vs. European Union: what’s the difference?
Ah, the age-old question! Why Let’s Talk about EU and not Let’s Talk about Europe? We are the first to sometimes confuse the two. It’s true that the difference is not clear sometimes. The European Union and Europe do not have the same borders, do not include the same countries and do not use the same definitions, depending on whom you ask. With Let’s Talk about EU we want to try to provide information about the institution (the European Union) rather than the geographical region (Europe).
Do you want to discuss Europe or do you have questions? Come and talk to us! We will be glad to welcome you on the Facebook page of the European Citizen Space.
